How to Run a Compliant Short-Term Rental
The goal of our short-term rental program is to make the home-sharing economy work for everyone in Fontana.
There are two categories (types) of short term rentals within the Village of Fontana: Vacation Rental Homes and Tourist Rooming Houses. It is important to note that you cannot operate either type of short term rental until all state and village requirements have been satisfied, and a Village of Fontana license has been issued. You should also confirm with your association board, covenants and rules, to ensure short term rentals are allowed.
Applications must be completed online through the Granicus/Host Compliance website (link below). You must wait until 60 days before the expiration date of your current license before renewing.
*Please note that license numbers have changed. If you are renewing a license and have not been issued a new license number in the format of STRXX-XXXXX, you will retrieve the new number by clicking on “Renew an Existing Village of Fontana License” then choose “I forgot my Short Term Rental License Number” and enter your parcel number. The site will then provide you with an updated short term rental license number.
